We get questions. Some sincere, some drunk, some both. So we built a place to answer the ones that keep showing up in our inbox — or at least to make fun of them before they do.
Q: Who runs 120 Proof Ball?
We’re Todd and Torsten — two middle-aged sports degenerates from Southern California. One manages money, the other manages chaos.
Q: How can I reach you?
Email us anytime at admin@120proofball.com. We actually read what comes in, unless it’s a trade proposal involving Mason Plumlee
Q: What do you write about?
NBA power dynamics, fantasy football etiquette, and all the ways stats lie to us about human behavior. Basically, sports — just less polite.
Q: How often do you post?
When inspiration hits or the Lakers blow another lead — whichever comes first. We aim for two to three posts a week, but we won’t force filler when there isn’t something worth pouring ink over.
Q: Can I contribute or collaborate?
Maybe. Send us a sample, a reason we won’t regret it, and proof you know the difference between grit and grind.
Q: Do you use AI for artwork?
Yes! But if you’re an artist who can offer same-day turnaround and doesn’t complain or demand a paycheck, we’d love to work with you.
Q: Is the writing on this site AI slop?
Well, that depends. If you consider six cross-referenced Excel spreadsheets of research, up to a month of writing time for some pieces, and occasionally asking ChatGPT to smooth a transition “AI slop,” then sure — we’re filthy.
Q: Do you edit or fact-check AI outputs?
Every word that makes it to print goes through human hands — ours. The bots get spellcheck duty; we handle the truth, tone, and hangovers.
Torsten
Still believes “sports journalist” is a viable career path. Sports generalist because he has commitment issues.
